Hearts Connected

(a poem about friendship)

Every now and then life smiles really wide

And puts in your path something great.

And though you may not recognize it at first,

You soon begin to see it is fate.

A really good friend is one such surprise

Which brings with it love that is true.

And my heart is flowing with gratitude

Cause I found a good friend in you.

Like a good fitting shoe, what a comfort it is

To know that I can be myself.

I can laugh, I can cry, I can even mess up

And still know you’re there and will help.

When we’re just talking or having fun,

A refreshing of joy fills my heart;

Then I remember the goodness of God

How He chose us as friends from the start,

What you do for me, I’ll do for you too;

In a friendship, that is expected.

Love is the dominant force behind it.

I thank God our Hearts are Connected.
