Butterfly

Many will not touch it

Its appearance tells you why;

Sometimes used by little boys

To frighten girls and make them cry.

But, the horror of this creature

Though it’s small will very soon

Make a stunning transformation

While it’s hidden in a cocoon.

Though this poetry’s about nature,

Within its lines is a hidden clue.

There are many similarities

For it’s speaking about you.

In the midst of your darkness,

There’s a process taking place;

Years of bruising, signs of heartache

And ugly scars are being erased.

Now, you feel there is no beauty;

That your dreams have passed you by.

Keep believing, you will discover

That you are the Butterfly!
